The staff was super friendly, and I enjoyed chatting with Christian. He was particularly sweet to my mom. If you're not up for much walking, bring some comfy shoes.

Scenery and beach.
No daily clean up. Broken running water. No credit card. If they call themselves eco, they should know much more about their own environment scientifically and socially.

The beach where the hotel is located is great. Recommendation: pop in and relax with a few drinks on the beach for the day. Dont bother to stay at the hotel overnight!
Booked for three nights, left after one sleepless night. "Hotel room" was just a filthy shack with a view. Before I get a response about the "ecological" nature of the place and about "turning off and going back to basics", I have spent many nights camping or staying in basic accommodation not costing $80 plus a night. But even though overpriced for what it is, there is no excuse for the disgusting state of the room - unclean pillows (we twice asked for replacements to no avail) and linen, stained towels, cockroaches, mosquito tent which didnt fit the bed (hence useless) which we still had to request, shower and toilet together, open bin for toilet waste..could go on and have pictures to prove the above..note their website says they turn off electricity at night, doesnt mention turning off the water as well, not great when having to use the bathroom at night..without overexaggeration, they tried to rip us off at the restaurant as well by charging $50 for the white house wine. When I challenged the price with the manager as on the menu the house wine was about $15, he put it down to "miscommunication" even though the bill clearly stated house wine in Spanish. All in all, when in Tulum do not stay here.

I stayed in the Casita Ocean View and it was super cute! The bed was comfy and the shower worked well. The outdoor area was a nice touch, but honestly, it felt a bit rustic and not maintained. The AC was great, but some parts were just in disarray. It wasn't bad, but for the price, I expected more polish. Still, the view was to die for, and the vibe relaxing. Just not the luxury I thought I'd get.

We stayed in a hut just up from the most amazing beach near the Tulum ruins. Great place to chill and get away from the main tourist trail.... Go there and completely relax!
This is a back to basics hotel. So be ready!

I'll take the time to do a review, only because I almost didn't book it because of the published reviews and I think my experience was very different. The hotel exceeded my expectations by a lot, from the check in we were greeted with a few drinks and wipes to refresh us, the staff was always super friendly and accessible. The room was super clean and even when I booked the smallest one (jungle house) the size was perfect. I never saw cockroaches or bugs inside my room (it was something I read in many reviews) at most I saw a couple of ants and a small lizard but it makes all sense since you are staying in a room in the middle of the beach and jungle and just the style of the hotel is to respect nature. Even though my room had jungle view it was 3 steps from the beach and I could see it from my room. The excellent beach club, breakfast also was included, delicious food and super Saturday party. I booked a Swedish massage at the spa and it was amazing, I also highly recommend taking the ocean view yoga classes. The hotel is not a low cost hotel and the style is not luxury or all inclusive type, but taking everything into account for me if it was worth it and I had an incredible stay. I left very happy :)
The room was a little dark for me, the rest is geat.

The beach access is fantastic with a nice vibe. The room's lighting is minimal, making it hard to get ready at night.

The setting is superb but it was not worth it the arrogance of the staff and their inability to supply what one has paid for was outrageous, nor were they courteous enough to properly compensate their own errors. This place has a long long way to go before its worth what you have to pay, the accommodation is for backpackers only but they are charging mid- range prices for no facilities, it could be so much nicer if they just spent some money on hte poor run down place.
Arrogant, unhelpful management with a few hardworking and embarrassed staff who did their best in a sinking ship
